Solid Phase Extraction Cartridges
Applied Separations offers a variety of Spe-ed (SPE) accessories, including medical grade polypropylene cartridges. The polypropylene cartridges are available in sizes ranging from 1mL to 60mL, MiniSpe-ed (Sep-PakTM type), and large reservoir cartridges (LRC). These cartridges can be purchased either empty or with frits.
Separate frits of assorted materials are also available in order to meet individual extraction needs. Syringe plungers are sold separately for manual extraction. These accessories, used separately or in combination, result in customized extraction columns for use in all solid phase extraction procedures.
Cartridge Types
 |
Standard Cartridges
Standard extraction columns are straight walled syringe barrel tubes designed for fast, easy, and exact sample preparation. These cartridges are available in 6 different sizes ranging from 1mL to 60mL |

 |
Large Reservoir Cartridges (LRC)
The wide opening of the 500 mg (the nominal amount of sorbent) large reservoir cartridges (LRC) allow for sample or rinse volumes greater than that allowed by the standard cartridge. The flared shape accommodates 15mL of sample without using additional reservoirs or adaptors. |

Flangeless/Rimless
Today’s fully automated SPE processing systems require an SPE cartridge configuration that has been specially adapted to fit these instruments. Applied Separations’ Flangeless cartridges do not have the flange, or tab that is found at the top of Applied Separations’ Standard SPE cartridge. The flangeless design allows for closer packing in specialized automated SPE systems, such as the Gilson® SPE215. This format will accommodate 96 x 1mL cartridges, or 48 x 3mL cartridges in the standard 96-well footprint. |

 |
Mini-Spe-ed
MiniSpe-ed cartridges contain the wide variety of sorbents found in standard Spe-ed cartridges. The MiniSpe-ed configuration can be easily used in manual syringe operations or on a vacuum manifold. |
