Applied Separations "Greens" Its Own Process
Allentown, PA - Applied Separations’ Rolf Schlake and Martin Fetner were joined by Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski and Congressman Charlie Dent, along with prominent business leaders as they "flipped the switch" on their new, rooftop solar panel system.

Applied Separations, Inc, committed corporate citizen in downtown Allentown and world leader in Supercritical Fluids, has once again demonstrated its dedication to both the Lehigh Valley and the environment by installing a state-of-the-art solar panel system on the roof of their world headquarters building in downtown Allentown.
The installation of the solar panels was made possible by a combination of funding from state grants, industrial development loans administered by LVEDC (Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation) and self-financing from Applied Separations. |
| The system installed by Applied Separations is composed of 207 large solar photoelectric panels, each generating 235 Watts of power, with an estimated annual energy production of 53,300 KWh. This is the largest exhibition of commitment to renewable energy in downtown Allentown, and Applied Separations is proud to be leading by example in their dedication to the green economy. The system will generate 53 SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) per year, allowing Applied Separations to sell an estimated 10,000 KWh back to the power grid. The transition to solar power is expected to save Applied Separations $33, 332 over the next 5 years in energy costs. |
